Since its inception, the Samajwadi Party has always worked towards improving the life of labourers and weavers. Akhilesh Yadav, the current Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh has taken some strong measures to ensure their wellbeing and prosperity.

  • For labourers, mid-day meal is being offered for Rs. 10. This scheme was implemented as a pilot project in Lucknow.
  • According to the mid-day meal scheme, during lunch hours, the labourers can choose between two meal packets on the menu as per their choice.
  • Mid-day meal ensures that the labourers get nutritious meal, every day.
  • Any registered labourer can avail this scheme.
  • More than 3 lakh health cards have been issued under Health Insurance Scheme by Samajwadi Party Government for weavers.
  • Under Samajwadi Weaver Pension Scheme, Rs. 500 will be given to the concerned person.
  • Prize money for Janeshwar Mishra State Weaver Award has been increased.
  • The first prize has been increased to Rs. 1 lakh from Rs. 50,000, second prize now stands at Rs. 50,000 as opposed to the previous Rs. 35,000 and the third prize is for Rs. 25,000.
